The Passionettes
After meeting on their drama degree course, Dionne Moss and Louise Hartley formed The Passionettes and began touring venues around the UK.
A chance encounter at a club lead to them being recruited as backing vocalists for a one off Elvis concert with Liverpool Legends, The Merseybeats, and this was the start of them becoming one of the UK's most sought after Elvis tribute backing singers, singing in theatres and venues across the UK and abroad.
They have worked with many of the best tribute acts over the years and have performed with Elvis Presley's own guitarist James Burton, provided backing vocals for touring theatre production Rock n Roll Paradise, recorded backing vocals for 60s Rock n Roll star Vince Eager, performed with Brian Nash from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, worked with original Heavy Rock band, Elias T Hoth and most recently they were asked by Suzi Quatro to perform backing vocals on her BBC2 radio adaptation of her Autobiography Unzipped and join her on her final tour of Australia. Additionally, they have their own successful live ABBA tribute show which is set to tour venues in 2016 and 2017.
Emmie Beckitt
Sixteen year old Emmie Beckitt is Bridlington's very own classical Soprano singer. At the young age of just 13 years old Emmie won first place in "Yorkshire Coast Got Talent". At the age of 14, Emmie successfully gained a place to support the Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins. She also recently sang at a Tim Rice concert "The Hymn" composed by Sir Tim Rice himself and, at the age of 15, had a classical single out in collaboration with the classical pianist, composer and TV presenter, Rick Wakeman. Both Emmie and Rick are patrons of the charity Kids n Cancer and all the profits from the sale was donated to the organisation.
Emmie said...my future is hypothetical, I am only 16 and at the moment I want to make my education my priority. Emmie is currently in her first year studying her A level, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and hopes to go on to University and gain a degree in Astrophysics.
However, there is nothing Emmie loves more than singing on her holy ground, and especially at the Spa in Bridlington. She is looking forward to performing at the Bridlington & Yorkshire Coast Business Awards and wishes all an enjoyable evening.
